A world-famous centre for quality Australian craft, in association with Mittagong’s Frensham and Gib Gate Schools. Since the 1930s Sturt has attracted artists, tutors and craftspeople of international stature. Weaving is a long-established craft taught here, and Sturt offers a fully equipped weaving studio with tuition for adults and school-age children. Sturt is a School of Excellence in Arts, Design and Fabrication that plays an important role in the cultural and historic make-up of the Highlands. Sturt attracts over 30,000 visitors a year to its exhibitions, summer and winter schools, workshops, events, contemporary design retail space, café and gardens. Sturt Gallery sells hand-printed garments and accessories.

Natalie Miller
Natalie Miller is an internationally recognised textile artist and known for her brightly coloured woven artworks. Natalie primarily works with her hand dyed Australian wool to create unique large tapestries. Natalie lives and works from her studio at East Kangaloon in the Southern Highlands, Australia. Natalie has regularly run creative retreats and workshops teaching tapestry weaving, macramé, natural dyeing, and weaving on the rigid heddle loom. Natalie designed and made the biggest macramé chandelier in the world at Pacific place in Hong Kong.
